ookay. so the subject's been on my mind for quite a while. i'm an atheist, and i, as an individual, never really thought prayer worked. however, if someone comes up to you if you're going through a tough time, or you have a sick family member or friend, or WHATEVER is going on, and says "i'll pray for you", or "i'll keep you in my prayers", you be respectful, thank them, and move on. telling them that prayer is a lie is going to upset them. besides, prayer is what they believe works best. in their mind, they're doing what they believe is best for you. even if it DOESN'T really work (and i can't prove if it does or doesn't, i don't believe it does but i'm not one to judge), just let them pray. they want to help you, and that's the best way they really can. if they tell you they'd like to pray for you, don't go on a big ass atheist rant on how there is no god, prayer isn't real, yada yada yada. first of all, you sound like fucking ONISION, and nobody likes onision. second, you're being highly disrespectful. accept the damn prayer and move on with your life. you don't have to think it's real to accept someone wanting to help you in the best way they know how.
